Frequently Asked Questions (Past)
Frequently asked questions
Q. This is my first time roasting coffee. Is it easy?
Yes, it's very easy. Just put in a scoop of green beans and press the "Start" button. The Nano 7 will roast automatically. If you want a darker roast, press the "+" button; if you want a lighter roast, press the "-" button before starting. The roast is based on a pre-made profile created by an expert, so even beginners can enjoy a professional-quality taste. If you want more detailed settings, you can customize it in detail using the "Studio" software that comes with the purchase.
Q. Where can I buy raw beans (green coffee)?
Green beans can be easily purchased from online shops or roasteries (home roasting shops).
Q. How long can green beans be stored?
They can generally be stored for up to 12 months after harvest (the fresher the harvest, the longer they will last). Store them in a dry, well-ventilated place. They are best enjoyed between 6 and 12 months after harvest.
Q. What is a roast profile?
This recipe is a collection of roasting settings such as temperature, time, and airflow speed. The Nano 7 comes with a default profile, and you can also load a different profile via USB memory. This profile ensures consistent roasting every time.
Q. Can I roast continuously?
Yes, you can. Once the first roast has cooled, you can immediately start the next roast. The Nano 7 is designed for continuous use, so you can roast continuously without waiting.
Q. How much smoke does it produce?
The amount of smoke produced is similar to that produced when frying. A standard exhaust fan is sufficient. A high-performance exhaust fan will leave almost no odor, but if the ventilation is weak, the fragrant roasting aroma may remain. If you do not have a ventilation fan, we recommend using an air purifier. In an environment without ventilation or air purification, it is ideal to roast one batch at a time.
Q. Regarding Japanese support
A Japanese instruction manual will be included. It will also be posted on the official website. We are working on multilingual support for the software, and plan to release a Japanese version this summer. The manufacturer's inquiry form will be in English, but you can contact us in Japanese as well. We also plan to release Japanese troubleshooting videos on YouTube for frequently asked questions.
Maintenance and care
How to clean your roaster
- Brush off any remaining chaff (thin bean skins, etc.). - Wipe the outside of the roaster with a soft, non-scratching cloth. - As you use the roasting chamber, coffee oil will adhere to it and it will become "familiar." There is no need to forcibly remove this oil. Removing it will not improve the roaster's performance or the taste of the coffee. *Never touch or clean the tip of the temperature sensor. This may cause damage.
How to clean the chaff collector
- Regularly wipe the inner glass with a damp paper towel. - After each roast, clean the mesh disc in the lid with a brush to remove chaff (thin bean skins). Ensuring the holes in the filter disc are not clogged will ensure consistent performance. - For a thorough cleaning, disassemble the chaff collector and soak each part in espresso machine cleaner (such as Cafetto EVO or Urnex) or a non-abrasive cleaner containing sodium carbonate or sodium bicarbonate. - Allow all parts to dry thoroughly before reassembling the chaff collector for use.
