When using the BOOST KIT function

If you are using the BOOST KIT feature, please adjust the set input amount using the "± button" after starting Fan Preview. When you change the set value, the fan speed (RPM) will automatically increase according to that input amount.

BOOST KIT Usage (Important Considerations)

The BOOST KIT feature allows you to check if beans are circulating properly in Fan Preview, even when roasting large quantities such as 150g to 200g.

Especially with large-batch roasting, increased input can lead to sluggish bean movement and insufficient circulation. In such cases, please adjust the setting using the "± button" during Fan Preview.

■ Basic Rules

Ensure sufficient circulation by running the fan at a setting greater than the actual input amount.

■ Specific Example (When using BOOST KIT)

For instance, if you want to roast 180g of green beans:

  • Perform Fan Preview with 180g loaded.
  • Circulation of beans is weak at the 180g setting.
  • Beans in the center are not mixing well.

This is a common scenario.

In such cases, increase the setting further.

Example:

  • Actual input: 180g
  • Setting: 200g setting (maximum)

If all beans are circulating stably in this state,

"A 200g setting is appropriate for a 180g input."

This is the determination.

Then, proceed with:

  • 180g input
  • 200g setting

By roasting in this manner, you can achieve a more stable circulation state.

■ Key Points

Performing Fan Preview correctly helps prevent thermal runaway and uneven roasting.

Insufficient bean circulation can cause heat to build up inside the chamber, leading to localized temperature increases and potential thermal runaway. Furthermore, unstable circulation makes it difficult for heat to be evenly transferred to all beans, resulting in uneven roasting.

By confirming proper circulation with Fan Preview before roasting, you can achieve:

  • Reduced risk of roasting interruption due to thermal runaway
  • Suppression of uneven roasting
  • Improved roasting reproducibility

These are the benefits.
